Gibson BRODHEAD -- Doris Rosa Gibson, age 86, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at Collinwood Group Home, Brodhead. She was born on December 7, 1919 in Twin Grove Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ranel R. and Daisy ‎(Nyman)‎ Pinnow. Her mother passed away when Doris was 9 weeks old and her Aunt and Uncle Louisa and Wake Whitehead raised her. She married Donald L. Gibson on October 31, 1943. He passed away in August of 1977. Doris had been a secretary for Gibson Plumbing and Heating for many years. She was a devoted member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead and of her church circle. She loved bowling and was a league member for many years. She is survived two sons: Wayne ‎(Karen)‎ Gibson, Brodhead, Don ‎(Bonnie)‎ Gibson, Janesville; five grandchildren, Todd, Wade ‎(Georgena)‎, Jana, Sean ‎(Ann)‎, and Heather Gibson; two step-grandchildren, Michelle ‎(Chris)‎ Fraunfelder, Robert ‎(Rhonda)‎ Schmidt; five great-grandchildren, Tristan Pautsch, Keenan, Alayna, Mackenzie and Carter Gibson; five step-great-grandchildren, Brittany, Zach, Alex, Tony, and Cheryl Schmidt; and a sister, Faith Maddox. She was preceded in death by her birth parents, parents, husband, Don, two brothers, John Pinnow, Ralph Whitehead, and two sisters, Neva Junior and Jessie Stoker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead, with Pastor Richard Thickpenny officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the D. L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD. A memorial fund will be established. |
