...with a natural aptitude for practical work, George (as he was called) wasthe chief standby of his father in the care of the farm ond in the erection of loysville Academy. he was valedictorian of his class of 150 at the Pennsylvania State Normal School. He taught in the Academy and in the Soldiers' Orphans Home. ..married first Lucetta Smith at her home in Milford, Pa...by Rev. D.H.Focht...his younger brothers were home from the army on Christmas furlough at the time...George and Lucetta moved to a farm in Iowa, then to chicago. Mrs Tressler died in Chicago and was interred at Markleville; she left nochildren...George married Sarah A Sczuck in Chicago...had two children VictorGeorge, who died in infancy, and David Loy...was active leader in church andreform circles, made sacrifices that few men are willing to make...spent hislast yearswith his brother Josiah E Tressler, M>D> and his sister Mary T. Arnold in Peabody, KS where he died... |
