converted toa Soldiers' Orphans Home, Mr. and Mrs. Minick cooperated in
its management...moved to Newport in 1868...where they resided the rest
of their lives...Mr.Minick was an insurance agent, broker, banker with
an interest in real estate...was an incorporator of the
Newport and Sherman's Valley RR in 1873...firstnarrow guage train ran in
1891...were active in church and other local organizations...'Grandma' '
Tressler lived with them the last years of her life...where she was
rescued from the top stairs during the Johnstown Flood...had two
children...all four are buried at Newport...
