...attended New Bloomfield Academy...graduated with honor at Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg in 1848...was the first teacher and principal of Loysville Academy...taught in a ' 'Select School' ' in Taneytown, MD and was a tutor at Gettysburg College...was admitted to law practice in April, 1850...went to Columbus, Ohio (May 1850) as the Chair of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy in Capitol University. In July 1851, he took possession of the law office of Judge Swan and Andrews...after a trip to Niagara Falls with others including hisfriend, Stephen Douglass, he was taken ill with typhoid fever and died in Sep1851...buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in columbus, Ohio... |
