Baptismal sponsors: Caspar Rith and wife (Reed's Churchbook) He was confirmed June 3, 1750, aged 19 yrs. (Tulpehocken Churchbook) His will was written Oct. 5, 1787 proved July 16, 1791. He willed his land to his son, Peter. It is claimed that he is the same man as John Adam Rieth, a farmer in perkiomen and Skippack Twps. Philadelphia Co. who arrived there as early as 1769 but then moved to Trappe about 1774. he was an innkeeper at Trappe then served in the Revolutionary War. After the war, he moved to Frederick Co. MD and died there at age 67 with 10 children recorded as having been born to him and his wife, Dorothy. |
